International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement

W.L. Walker Co. has supported the International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement for generations through school leadership, committee service, technical instruction, exhibits, and hands-on petroleum measurement experience.

Hydrocarbon Measurement Education

ISHM remains one of the petroleum industry’s most important forums for hydrocarbon measurement education. The school brings together measurement professionals, instructors, exhibitors, standards participants, and field personnel to support practical training in oil and gas measurement.

Looking Ahead to 2027

The next International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement is scheduled for mid-May 2027 and will mark the 100th school. Registration and event updates are available through the official ISHM website.

Why ISHM Matters: Hydrocarbon measurement depends on trained people, repeatable procedures, practical field knowledge, and equipment that supports defensible measurement. ISHM helps connect those pieces through classroom instruction, exhibits, proceedings, and direct industry participation.
W.L. Walker’s Role: W.L. Walker’s continued participation in ISHM reflects the company’s broader commitment to petroleum measurement standards, custody transfer practice, temperature determination, gauging, sampling, density measurement, and sediment and water testing.
Note: ISHM and Measurement Library are external resources. Registration, proceedings, school dates, document access, and event details are managed by their respective organizations.
